Rinkside by: Nicholas H. Oak Grove School
I had an amazing time when I went to Rinkside! I went to Rinkside with my dad, and the first thing we did was play Laser Tag! My dad and I were on different teams but we had a great time anyway! My dad's team won, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! At the end my nickname for Laser Tag was Prettycat, I did horrible! I was amazed when my dad got the nickname Panther! The next thing we did was eat. I ate a funnel cake and drank some Sprite. I wanted dessert but my dad had something else planned instead. We went to the arcade and I got 968 tokens! I cashed them all in candy! I would love to go back!!!!!

The Jelly Belly Factory by: Dominic F. Oak Grove School

Chuga Chuga Choo Choo... That is the sound of the train in the Jelly Belly Factory. There were pictures of famous people like Albert Einstein made out of jelly beans, not paint!!! We got to see how they made jelly beans. When we got off the train, we got free jelly belly samples like apple, bubble gum, cherry, strawberry, ect. The Jelly Belly Factory is enormous!!! There is even a car shaped like a jelly bean! It was so awesome! I went with my grandma and my sister. We went to the gift shop and it was big too! The best kind of jelly bean is the belly flop. When I was there they were on sale!!! Next time I go there I wish I would have more fun and more samples.

The Lake County Discovery Museum by: John R. Oak Grove School
I went to the Lake County Discovery Museum with my family for my grandpa's birthday. I loved it. It was so much fun. First, I got to put on old Chicago Bears players football pads. Next, I took cool pictures with the animal artifacts. We got hungry so we ate lunch in the park. There was a big statue of a life size mammoth in the park. Plus, there was a man made beaver dam that kids could crawl into so I did. After that, we watched a movie about Walter Peyton and his records in a theater for 10 people. Finally it was time to leave the museum. I think the Lake County Discovery Museum is one of the best museums ever.

The Marriott Theatre by: Noah J. Oak Grove School
I went to the Marriott Theatre with my class at school. When I went there, there was a long line to get in. When we finally got to our seats, we watched the play called the Nutcracker. The Nutcracker had a cool stage that is actually a machine that turned into stairs. After the play, the audience asked the actors questions. I got to ask a question twice. I noticed that the theatre was kind of small. Instead of seats in front of the stage, they were surrounding it on all four sides. I sat at the second to last row in the first section that came in to view after I walked out of a hallway. The theatre's lobby was kind of pretty. It had a crystal chandelier, a nice rug, two large staircases that move away from each other and then meet at the top, and a seating area with a television. The Marriott Theatre is a cool place, (but all I got to do was watch a play). When you come to Lake County, you should go to the Marriott Theatre.

Chicago Botanic Gardens Halloween Fest by: Vittorio B. Oak Grove School
Almost my whole family and I went to the Botanic Garden Halloween Fest. The first thing I say was Frankenstein with bouncy shoes. He was standing at the entrance but he didn't scare me! Then I saw the monster from The Black Lagoon eating a leg. I went on the other side so he couldn't get me. After that we went to decorate pumpkins. Mine had a bunch of faces and lines. It was cool. Then, Fred the vampire, came in and told us to come to his show. After that we saw the magician. He was balancing on a ladder and was juggling with bowling pins. We were thirsty so we got a drink. It was delicious. After that we got a free sensitive plant! We saw a scientist. Then we went to play games and I won a bunch of prizes. The last thing we saw before we left was the spooky mini trains. This was our second time going this year and we're going back again next year!
