Long Grove by: Gabby B. Oak Grove School

This small town of Long Grove has over 80 shops & restaurants. They have everything from jewerly to dog toys. Long Grove is hard to find. It is located just northwest of Route 83 and Old Route 53-east of Barrington, south of Lake Zurich, north of Arlington Heights and west of Buffalo Grove! Most of their shops are open 11:00 to 5:00 on Sunday and 10:00 to 5:00 the rest of the week. One cool thing is they have an Irish shop full of stuff from Ireland. They also have an Apple House which makes apple cider. They have a Chocolate Festival that celebrates the beginning of the outdoor special events season of Long Grove. If you would like to come call 1-847-634-0868!

Independence Grove by: Michelle J. Oak Grove School
If you ever come to Lake County, why not visit Independence Grove? There is a children's playground, called Children's Grove. You can also feed the animals from the dock. There are trails to ride bikes or ride on, lots of nature to look at, and canoes or paddleboats to ride on. By a lake there is also a beach, but it is only open in the summer.

Children's Grove has two playgrounds, a small grassy clearing, great for flying kits, a climbing wall with a slide to get down, a huge boulder to climb on, and a small tunnel. When you go to the beach in the summer, you'll see seagulls everywhere. Feeding ducks, fish, and seagulls from the dock is really fun. (You should feed them bread) It's a man made beach so you won't find any shells. Get ready to have fun at Independence Grove in Libertyville, IL.

The Tempel Lipizzan Horse Farm by: Quinn B. Oak Grove School

The Tempel Lipizzan is a great place to visit if you like horses. The horses are beautiful and they do amazing tricks. The US Forces reserved the Lipizzans, which is neat. I went to Tempel Lipizzan with my grandma and brother last summer. We all thought the show was interesting and exciting. They sell hot dogs if you get hungry. And they are delicious. They have shows from June to September and also have off-season tours. They even sell hay and vegetables. So if you are ever in Wadsworth, Illinois come to a show unlike any other.

Ravinia by: Jayne M. Oak Grove School

As you lie on a damp towel, faint smells of freshly cut grass, vanilla ice cream, and fragrant flowers waft about. A tall, majestic building looms above you. Beside it, a huge, outdoor stadium is filled with excited people. Ravinia, the live music station, surrounds you.

Take a train or drive to fun-filled Ravinia. Sample everything from hot-dogs to refreshing ice cream sundays. Observe dancers who come from different countries around the world, or listen to all types of music, which includes classical music, ideal for the aged, and the rock that teenagers love. There are numerous booths dotting the land around you that contain souvenirs of the highest degree. They are cheap too!

I can recall a time when l visited Ravinia with my best friend. As we walked down the path, we picked berries of different shades. When we arrived, Ravinia was in full bloom. There were more flowers than anybody could ever imagine displayed in mini-stone surrounded gardens. We entered a huge building and watched graceful dancers. Coming to Ravinia will be a memorable experience, so come and join the fun
